What the app stores

Everything you record in OpenPrayer — prayers, fasts, excused days, badges, settings, and your chosen location — is stored only on your device. OpenPrayer has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking SDKs, and no server of its own. Nothing you do in the app is transmitted to us or to anyone else.

Location

If you tap "Use my location", the app asks iOS for your position once and uses it on your device to calculate prayer times and the Qibla direction. Your location is saved only in the app's local storage. It is never uploaded anywhere.

City search

If you search for a city by name instead, the app sends only the text you typed to the Open-Meteo Geocoding API to look up matching places. This is the app's only network request. The query is not linked to your identity, and OpenPrayer neither stores it nor sends anything else. Open-Meteo's own privacy policy is available at open-meteo.com/en/terms.

Notifications

Prayer and fasting reminders are optional and are scheduled entirely on your device from your locally calculated prayer times. No push-notification server is involved.

Sharing and exports

Badge images, Year-in-Review images, and data exports are created on your device and go only where you choose to send them through the iOS share sheet.

Deleting your data

Deleting the app deletes all of its data. There is nothing to delete anywhere else, because nothing ever left your device.

Children

OpenPrayer collects no data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be published at this address with a new effective date. Since the app collects nothing, meaningful changes are unlikely.
